On December 11, 2023, we held the ENCODING kick-off meeting in Brussels.
During the meeting, we defined the project scope and aligned our team and partners.
We presented the project conception, shared key objectives, and allowed each Work Package (WP) leader to detail their tasks, objectives, and relationships to other WP. Additionally, our exceptional PhD students presented their profiles and the captivating topics of their PhDs. This meeting marked the beginning of an exciting project and strengthened our collaboration, laying the foundation for joint success.
On top of that, the students participated in the first ENCODING Training School!
We delved into the basics of Combustion and Data-driven modelling through master classes with our supervisors (Alessandro Parente, Luc Vervisch, Mara de Joannon, Giancarlo Sorrentino, Pino Sabia, Heinz Pitsch) and external experts:
- Mattia Bissoli from Tenova and Enrico Cresci from WS shared their industrial experience and perspective
- Christine Rousselle delivered an outstanding keynote on the potential of ammonia as a fuel of the future and its challenges
- Jesús Garicano Mena introduced us to the fascinating world of data-driven methods with DMD
- Alberto Procacci shared some of the secrets of machine learning and its potential
And as if that wasn’t enough, we also took some time to have fun with some team-building activities! 🎉🎄
