The Department of Applied Mathematics at the School of Aerospace Engineering of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) has different research groups:

• Methods and Numerical Applications to Aerospace Technology group focusing on numerical methods, fluid mechanics, energy efficiency, etc.
• Analysis and experiments in fluid mechanics and Combustion group focused on fluid mechanics, dynamic combustion processes, two-phase flows, experimental techniques, and optical diagnostics development, among others.
• Dynamics and nonlinear stability in the aerospace engineering group focused on pattern formation, partial differential equations, dynamical problems, control and stability, and others.
