Soledad Le Clainche Martinez is an associate professor in the Dept. of Applied Mathematics at the School of Aerospace Engineering of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM). She holds three Master of Science: in Mechanical Engineering from UPCT, in Aerospace Engineering from UPM, and Fluid Mechanics from Von Karman Institute. In 2013 she completed her PhD in Aerospace Engineering at UPM. Her research focuses on computational fluid dynamics and the development of novel tools for data analysis enabling the detection of spatiotemporal patterns. Dr Le Clainche has developed reduced-order models to treat realistic industrial fluid dynamic flows. She has developed numerical methods to study the flow physics of complex numerical and experimental data taking advantage of the insights provided by data analysis tools. In addition, she has contributed to flow control, global stability analysis, analysis of flow structures in complex flows (transitional and turbulent) using data-driven methods, and prediction of temporal patterns using machine learning and soft computing methods.
